DINNER TABLE
I sit crossed-legged at a dinner table,
Lying in a forest
Where the trees meet at their roots,
Intertwining like birds in the sky,
And their leaves wave to each other—
A neighborly hello.
Here my mind can be free
From the stress of everyday life,
Where it can be as empty as could be.
Feeling numb from it all,
Feeling nothing at all.
In plain sight,
Yet no one joins me here at this dinner table.
Safe in a familiar spot,
Sitting here with no one,
Sitting with all my friends.
